New debrief · Round 2

This is a new debrief, separate from Round 1.

We received the second-round FOLD 1 sample based on the previous debrief. Thank you.

The purpose of this document is not to re-open the Round 1 debrief on the current FOLD 1 sample. Detailed FOLD 1 feedback will follow after our United Arrows meeting on 23 July.

The purpose of this document is to register a new interpretation ask on POUR. In Round 1 this additional interpretation ask did not register clearly on the IFF side, so we are re-issuing it here as a standalone Round 2 debrief with the original POUR scent brief attached.

Why we are asking for new samples before the 23rd

We are running out of time. To keep the launch order on track we need to place the first launch order by the end of July, which means the new interpretation samples need to be in motion in parallel with the Round 1 detailed feedback rather than after it.

Round 1 · FOLD 1 — detailed feedback targeted for post-UA meeting
Detailed feedback on the FOLD 1 sample is targeted for after our United Arrows meeting on 23 July.

The detailed debrief on the current FOLD 1 sample will follow after our United Arrows meeting on 23 July, together with the reformulation direction.

Round 2 · New interpretation ask
POUR — first interpretation and samples, please.

We would like to bring Juliette onto POUR in parallel with the FOLD 1 feedback loop. A first interpretation and sample round on POUR before the end of July will let us close on direction cleanly.

Full creative freedom on execution; the original brief below is the reference we shared at the very start of the project.

POUR
The act of pouring — flow, air, movement, a thin surface.
Category · locked POUR is a gourmand. This must not be misread. The construction leans into grain, milk, orris, and skin-warmth — a soft, edible, body-close gourmand, not a floral, not an aromatic, not an aquatic. Keep the sweetness restrained and the texture skin-adherent, but the category itself is settled: gourmand.

Transparent liquid being poured slowly into a glass in still morning air. Soft grain — like the warmth of breath on a piece of linen. The scent should not feel segmented; it should feel like one continuous surface that naturally settles onto the skin.

A bowl of warm rice water; the moment before the surface breaks.

The quiet domestic moment of pouring — a parent setting down a glass, a kettle being lifted off the stove. Specific, but universally familiar.

Temperature skin-warm, not cool  ·  Pitch mid–low, no sharp highs  ·  Color pale ivory, milk-white  ·  Texture fluid, slightly oily, never sticky  ·  Weight light–medium, diffused  ·  Shape a continuous surface, not segmented stages

  • 1 · Top — fluid green openingCoriander seed (raw, non-sparkling) · petitgrain (controlled) · pear (soft, watery sweetness). Green bitterness balanced by soft sweetness; approachable and diffused; fluid rather than sharp.
  • 2 · Bridge — watery transitionCucumber watery nuance (very brief). Creates moisture and movement; acts as a transition, not a note; must appear briefly and disappear naturally.
  • 3 · Heart — grain + skin axisGrain accord (wheat-centered) · soft milk accord (light) · subtle orris (very low dose). Soft grain + milk texture; rounded but not sweet; continuous into the base.
  • 4 · TextureSubtle oily skin nuance (Debaser-ref, without sweetness) · very light lactonic trace. Skin-adhering texture; slight oiliness without gourmand; adds realism and softness.
  • 5 · Base — skin + diffusionAmbrettolide / ambrette seed · white musk · ambroxan (diffusion) · very light woods (trace). Skin + diffusion + softness; continuous, diffused base; 'folding onto skin' effect.
  • Strong citrus (lime, mandarin)
  • Floral-centered notes
  • Heavy woods
  • Excess or candied sweetness (gourmand should feel edible, not sugary)
  • Fruity impression (pear must stay soft)
  • Creamy heaviness (avoid dessert-heavy texture)
  • Overly green top
  • Sterile cleanness

Spray → soft green + pear → watery transition → grain + milk → skin diffusion

Thank you for the second round. Detailed FOLD 1 feedback will follow after our United Arrows meeting on 23 July; the POUR interpretation samples in parallel will let us keep the end-of-July order on track.

Best,
Kelvin
